"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

Open Canvas is a project I (along with Tabithina) am organising, at Sydney University, for the Verge Arts Festival. We supply paint, a place and a couple of square metres of whitespace, and turn people loose. The pictures I've been uploading show some of the results, and we're going to do this two more times. It's great fun and it gives us an excuse to paint random crap on other people's money.
